How to use Zivast-F Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Zivast-F Tablet is to be taken with food.

How Zivast-F Tablet works

Zivast-F Tablet is a combination of two lipid-lowering medicines: Atorvastatin and fenofibrate. Atorvastatin prevents your body from making "bad" cholesterol (LDL), while fenofibrate works by lowering the levels of triglycerides in your blood. Both raise the levels of “good” cholesterol (HDL).

Zivast-F Tablet related warnings

Zivast-F Tablet is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Human and animal studies have shown significant adverse effects on the foetus. Please consult your doctor.
Zivast-F Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Zivast-F Tablet does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Zivast-F Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Zivast-F Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Zivast-F Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.
Zivast-F Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Zivast-F Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Q. Can Zivast-F cause liver damage?

Zivast-F contains Atorvastatin and Fenofibrate. A very rare (1 in 10000 patient) side effect of this medicine is liver damage. Use of this medicine should be avoided in patients with underlying liver disease. Contact your doctor immediately if you notice any early signs and symptoms of liver damage. These symptoms may include fever, rash, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, stomach pain, dark urine, yellow skin or eyes, or abnormal liver enzymes.

Q. Can Zivast-F cause muscle pain?

Yes, Zivast-F can cause muscle pain by injuring the muscles. Talk to your doctor as soon as possible if you experience muscle pain, weakness or muscle cramps. It can be a sign of any muscle injury caused due to Zivast-F.

Q. What lifestyle changes should be adopted while taking Zivast-F?

Making lifestyle changes can boost your health while taking Zivast-F. Stop smoking, as smoking increases your risk of having a heart attack and stroke. If you are overweight or obese, try to lose weight. You should maintain a healthy diet by including fruits and vegetables in your meals. Regular exercise can make your heart strong and decrease your risk of heart attack.
