How long does the effect of Xylocaine 1% Injection lasts?
The anesthetic effect of Xylocaine 1% Injection starts acting rapidly. However, it has a very short duration of action of 10-20 minutes after intravenous injection and 60-90 minutes after intramuscular action. The quantity of medicine reduces into half (into the blood-stream) within 1.5 to 2 hours of taking it.
