Uniprest Tablet is used in medical abortion and post-delivery bleeding.

How to use Uniprest Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Uniprest Tablet is to be taken with food.

How Uniprest Tablet works

Uniprest Tablet increases contractions of the uterus to cause abortion. It can also prevent post-delivery bleeding due to poor contraction of the uterus.

Expert advice for Uniprest Tablet

  • If you are taking Uniprest orally, then it is best taken with food and do not take antacids that contain magnesium along with it. Ask your doctor for help in selecting a suitable antacid.
  • Take Uniprest only as prescribed by the doctor because in some cases, miscarriages caused by Uniprest are likely to be incomplete which may result in serious medical complications, leading to hospitalization, surgery and possible infertility.
  • Notify the doctor immediately if excessive bleeding occurs.

Uniprest Tablet is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy.

Human and animal studies have shown significant adverse effects on the foetus. Please consult your doctor.
Uniprest Tablet should be used with caution during lactation
. Breast feeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.
Uniprest Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or d
ecrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Uniprest Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Uniprest Tablet is recommended.

However, inform your doctor if you have an underlying kidney disease. This medicine may be started with a low dose and then increased with caution by your doctor.
Uniprest Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liv
er disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Uniprest Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

Missed Dosageuses

If you miss a dose of Misoprostol, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
