Product introduction

Give Tivtrace O Syrup to your child orally either before or after food in the dose, time, and way prescribed by the doctor. Usually, it is prescribed two times a day, in the morning and at bedtime. However, this dosing may vary depending upon your child’s symptoms, body weight, and age. Never double the dose to catch for the missed dose. However, you will have to repeat the dose if your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking Tivtrace O Syrup. Refrain from repeating the dose if it is time for the next dose.

Some of the minor and short-term side effects of this medicine include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, headache, skin rash, and itching. These episodes almost always subside on their own once the child’s body adapts to the medicine. However, in case they persist for long or start bothering your child, you must consult your child’s doctor without any delay.

Your child’s doctor must be aware if your child has ever had any previous episode of allergy, bowel obstruction, electrolyte imbalance, heart problem, liver impairment, and kidney malfunction. This will guide the doctor in planning your child’s overall treatment.

Uses of Tivtrace O Syrup

Benefits of Tivtrace O Syrup

Treatment of Diarrhea
Diarrhea refers to the passing of loose, watery stools three or more times a day due to an infection in the gastrointestinal tract. Tivtrace O Syrup reduces the excessive secretion of water and electrolytes and helps replenish the lost fluids and salts. It also helps treat loose stools and prevents abdominal distension or flatulence. Your child needs to take this medicine regularly to get the most out of it and drink plenty of fluids while taking it to stay hydrated.

Your child may start to feel better after getting treated for a few days to a week. However, do not extend the course or stop the medicine by yourself without consulting your child’s doctor. This may lead to the recurrence of symptoms.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Tivtrace O Syrup may be taken with or without food.

How Tivtrace O Syrup works

Tivtrace O Syrup contains two medicines: Racecadotril and ofloxacin. Racecadotril is an enkephalinase inhibitor that has anti-secretory effects. This means that this medicine reduces the secretion of water and electrolytes from the intestine. As a result, the amount of fluid lost from the body in diarrhea reduces. On the other hand, Ofloxacin is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria by preventing them from reproducing and causing infection.
