Tinizol D Tablet is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.

The most common side effects are nausea, metallic taste, diarrhea, dryness in mouth, vomiting, stomach pain, flatulence, weakness, nervousness, headache, and blurred vision. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects. It may also cause dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it can worsen your dizziness.

Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding. You should also tell your doctor if you have any kidney or liver diseases so that your doctor can prescribe a suitable dose for you. Immediately consult your doctor if you experience any allergic reactions such as skin rash, swelling, and itching.

How Tinizol D Tablet works

Tinizol D Tablet is a combination of four medicines: methylpolysiloxane, dicyclomine, diloxanide and tinidazole.

Quick tips

You have been prescribed Tinizol D Tablet for the treatment of diarrhea and to get relief from abdominal pain.
It is best to take it when the first sign of pain occurs.
Diarrhea can cause water loss and electrolyte imbalance. Drink plenty of fluids especially ORS (oral rehydration solution) to help keep you hydrated.
Consult your doctor if your diarrhea lasts for more than 48 hours even after taking Tinizol D Tablet.
Stick to simple meals and avoid spicy rich food in order to avoid feeling sick (nausea).
Dry mouth may occur as a side effect. Frequent mouth rinses, good oral hygiene, increased water intake and sugarless candy may help.
Do not take any indigestion remedies (antacids) within two hours of taking this medicine.

Consumption of alcohol with Tinizol D Tablet may cause a disulfiram-like reaction, leading to symptoms such as flushing, increased heart rate, low blood pressure, nausea, lightheadedness, and severe headache.
