Product introduction

Temoglan Infusion is given by a nurse or a doctor. You should not self-administer this medicine.  Your doctor will decide what dose is necessary and how often you need to take it. This will depend on the severity of your condition and may change from time to time. It may take several weeks or months for you to see or feel the benefits but do not stop taking it unless your doctor tells you to.

The most common side effects of this medicine include nausea, vomiting, constipation, headache, and fatigue. This medicine may reduce the number of blood cells in your blood thereby, increasing the susceptibility to infections. Regular blood tests are required to check your blood cells along with kidney, liver, and heart function during treatment with this medicine.

Before taking it, tell your doctor if you have bleeding, liver, or kidney problems or are taking any medicines to treat infections. Many other medicines can affect, or be affected by, this medicine so let your doctor know all medications you are using. This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. The use of effective contraception by both males and females during treatment is important to avoid pregnancy.

Brain tumor
Brain tumor is an abnormal mass or collection of cells that may be cancerous (malignant) or non-cancerous (benign). Temoglan Infusion kills or stops the growth of cancer cells and also prevents the multiplication of cancer cells. It is a potent and very toxic medicine and you should discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. You should avoid drinking alcohol while having this treatment and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

Side effects of Temoglan Infusion

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

How Temoglan Infusion works

Temoglan Infusion is an anti-cancer medication. It enters the brain tissues and works by damaging the genetic material (DNA and RNA) of the cancer cells. This stops their growth and multiplication.

Quick tips

  • Temoglan Infusion is given as an injection into the vein under the supervision of a doctor only.
  • Do not skip any dose and complete the course as suggested by your doctor.
  • Use an effective method of birth control to avoid pregnancy while taking this medication.
  • It increases your risk of bleeding. Be careful while shaving, cutting fingernails or toenails, or using sharp objects.
  • Your doctor may get regular blood tests done to monitor your blood cell count and liver function.
  • Inform your doctor if you experience severe skin rash, fever, chills, headache and shortness of breath during the treatment.

Temoglan Infusion is not recommended during pregnancy as there is positive evidence of fetal risk based on animal studies. However, it may still be prescribed by a doctor in situations where the benefits outweigh the risks.
Breast feeding

Temoglan Infusion is unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Data suggests that the drug may cause toxicity to the baby.
Driving

Driving

Temoglan Infusion may decrease alertness, affect your vision, or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Kidney

SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Temoglan Infusion is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data suggest dose adjustment may not be needed.
Cautious use is advised in patients with severe kidney disease while they are taking Temoglan Infusion.
Liver

Liver

CAUTION
Temoglan Infusion should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment may be needed.
Limited information is available on the use of Temoglan Infusion in these patients. No dose adjustment is recommended in patients with mild to moderate liver disease.

Interaction with drugs

Taking Temoglan with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects
Life-threatening

Natalizumab (Injection Route)

Do not consume Natalizumab with Temozolomide.

Filgrastim (Injection Route)

Temozolomide may reduce the efficacy of Filgrastim. Temozolomide may reduce the efficacy of Filgrastim.
