How to use Tacsant Capsule

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. It can be taken with or without food, but it is better to take Tacsant 1mg Capsule at a fixed time.
Avoid Tacsant 1mg Capsule with high-fat meals such as olive oil, nuts & seeds (Brazil nuts), dark chocolate, butter and meat.

Expert advice for Tacsant Capsule

  • Tacsant, like all immunosuppressants, increases the risk of infection and certain cancers. Avoid being close to people with cold, flu or other contagious illness.
  • Do not take a "live vaccine" while you are on Tacsant. The live vaccine may not work well and may not fully protect you.
  • Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to conceive or breastfeeding.
  • Inform your doctor if you have ever been diagnosed with kidney or liver problems.
  • Your doctor may ask to get Tacsant blood concentration level, to avoid side effect due to high concentrations.
  • Your doctor may ask to get kidney function test done regularly to avoid kidney damage.
  • Tacsant provide better survival and lower acute rejection rate.
  • Tacsant offers many advantages over cyclosporin. Less frequent acute and chronic rejection, better absorption leading to earlier discharge from the hospital, fewer side effects and earlier weaning of most patients off corticosteroids doesn't cause hirsutism or gum overgrowth.
