General Information

Product introduction
Stemin Injection is generally administered by a healthcare professional in the dose and duration prescribed by your doctor. The number of injections and the length of treatment depend on your condition, its severity, and your response to treatment. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully and do not miss scheduled doses. If you are receiving this medicine for the long term, do not stop treatment suddenly without consulting your doctor, as the dose may need to be reduced gradually.
There is limited information available on the common side effects of Stemin Injection. However, it may cause side effects such as stomach discomfort, mood changes, difficulty sleeping, increased appetite, and fluid retention in some people. It may also increase blood sugar levels and blood pressure, particularly with repeated or prolonged treatment. Long-term use may increase the risk of infections, thinning of bones, and other corticosteroid-related complications.
Before receiving Stemin Injection, inform your doctor if you have diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, liver or kidney problems, osteoporosis, glaucoma, stomach ulcers, or a history of infections such as tuberculosis. This medicine should not be used in patients with certain untreated systemic infections or known allergies to its ingredients.
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking other medicines, including blood thinners and anti-inflammatory medicines. Avoid close contact with people who have chickenpox or shingles if you have not previously had these infections, and seek medical advice if exposure occurs.
Uses of Stemin Injection
- Treatment of Severe allergic reactions
- Treatment of Severe Asthma
- Treatment of Soft Tissue Inflammatory conditions
- Treatment of Acute Adrenal Crisis
- Treatment of Severe Shock
Benefits of Stemin Injection
Severe allergic reactions can cause widespread inflammation, swelling, skin reactions, and breathing difficulties. Stemin Injection helps reduce the body’s inflammatory response to allergens. This helps relieve inflammation-related symptoms and swelling. In life-threatening allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis, it is used only as an additional treatment when considered appropriate and does not replace adrenaline or other emergency care.
A severe asthma attack can cause intense airway inflammation, wheezing, coughing, and difficulty breathing. Stemin Injection helps reduce inflammation and swelling in the airways, making breathing easier. It can help improve symptoms such as wheezing, chest tightness, and breathlessness.
Soft tissue inflammatory conditions, such as tennis elbow, tenosynovitis, and bursitis, can cause pain, tenderness, swelling, and difficulty moving the affected area. Stemin Injection helps reduce inflammation in the affected tissues, helping relieve pain and swelling. This helps movements more comfortable and improve the ability to perform daily activities.
Acute adrenal crisis is a serious condition that occurs when the body does not have enough corticosteroid hormones to cope with physical stress. It can cause severe weakness, low blood pressure, vomiting, and potentially life-threatening complications. Stemin Injection provides corticosteroid activity to help compensate for the hormone deficiency during an emergency. It is administered as part of urgent hospital treatment to help stabilise the patient’s condition, alongside other necessary supportive measures.
Severe shock is a life-threatening condition in which blood circulation becomes inadequate to meet the body's needs. It may occur after major injury, surgery, or overwhelming infection and can lead to organ damage. Stemin Injection provides corticosteroid effects that may support the management of selected patients as part of emergency treatment. It does not directly restore blood circulation or replace essential treatments such as fluids, medicines to support blood pressure, or treatment of the underlying cause.

Quick tips
- If you are receiving this medicine for a severe asthma attack, follow your prescribed asthma treatment plan after recovery. Identify and avoid triggers such as dust, smoke, air pollution, and pollen that may worsen your breathing problems.
- If you have severe allergies, try to identify and avoid substances that trigger your allergic reactions, such as certain foods, medicines, or insect stings.
- If you receive this medicine for inflammation around a joint or tendon, rest the affected area for 24–48 hours after the injection, and gradually resume normal activities.
- If you require repeated or prolonged corticosteroid treatment, eat a balanced diet containing calcium- and vitamin D-rich foods, such as milk, curd, and fortified foods, to support bone health.
- If you have diabetes, monitor your blood sugar levels as advised by your doctor, as corticosteroids may increase blood sugar.
- Get adequate rest and maintain good personal hygiene during treatment. Corticosteroids can reduce your body’s ability to fight infections, particularly when used in high doses or for prolonged periods.
- If you are receiving Stemin Injection for a prolonged period, do not stop it suddenly without consulting your doctor. Your doctor may gradually reduce the dose to allow your body to adjust.
