Product introduction

Siaglide-EM 10 Tablet ER should be taken exactly as prescribed. It can be taken with or without food. Regular dosing is important to keep blood sugar under control. Do not skip doses or stop without medical advice, as this may cause uncontrolled diabetes. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as remembered, but do not double the dose.

The most common side effects include hypoglycaemia, headache, thirst, constipation, increased urination, and urinary tract infection. Some patients may experience low blood sugar when taken with insulin or sulfonylureas. Rarely, dehydration, excessive thirst, or ketoacidosis may occur.

Siaglide-EM 10 Tablet ER should not be used in patients with severe kidney impairment, end-stage renal disease, or dialysis. It is contraindicated in people with metabolic acidosis or diabetic ketoacidosis. Caution is required in those with a history of frequent urinary or genital infections, dehydration, heart failure, or low blood pressure. It should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless clearly needed. Regular monitoring of kidney function, blood sugar, and hydration status is advised.

How Siaglide-EM Tablet ER works

Siaglide-EM 10 Tablet ER is a combination of sitagliptin, metformin, and empagliflozin. Metformin decreases glucose production in the liver and improves the body’s response to insulin. Sitagliptin increases insulin release and lowers glucose production after meals by improving natural hormone activity. Empagliflozin helps remove excess glucose through urine by blocking its reabsorption in the kidneys. When combined, these actions complement each other, reducing sugar production, improving insulin action, and promoting glucose elimination. This multi-target approach provides stronger, more balanced blood sugar control and helps lower the risk of long-term complications in type 2 diabetes.

Quick tips

  • Stay well hydrated to avoid dehydration and kidney-related problems.
  • Maintain good personal hygiene to reduce the risk of urinary or genital infections.
  • Monitor blood sugar levels regularly and attend follow-up checkups.
  • Inform your doctor immediately if you experience symptoms like extreme thirst, nausea, vomiting, or rapid breathing (possible ketoacidosis).
