Overview

Introduction of Saferet Tablet

Saferet 20 Tablet is an oral medication used in the treatment of severe or nodular acne. It reduces excessive oil production of the skin. Use it exactly as prescribed by the doctor.

Your doctor may do blood tests before, during and after the treatment with Saferet 20 Tablet to check how your liver is working. If your liver function is affected, your doctor may lower your dose or stop the treatment with this medicine.

Avoid unnecessary sun exposure and cover the treated areas with clothing or use a sunscreen before stepping out in the sun. Drink plenty of water and use moisturizer as it may lead to dryness of mouth, lips and eyes. It may make your skin more fragile. It is advised, not to have any waxing (hair removal), or laser treatments during treatment.

Saferet 20 Tablet may lead to birth defects, do consult your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant.

How to use Saferet Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Saferet 20 Tablet is to be taken with food.

How Saferet Tablet works

Saferet 20 Tablet is a derivative of vitamin A. It acts on glands (sebaceous) to reduce the production of a natural substance (sebum) that causes acne. Also, the controlled sebum production kills acne-causing bacteria. It also works as an anti-inflammatory to decrease inflammation (redness and swelling).

Alcohol
UNSAFE
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Saferet 20 Tablet Taking isotretinoin with alcohol may have unpleasant side effects such as fast heartbeats, warmth or redness under your skin, tingly feeling, nausea, and vomiting.
Pregnancy
UNSAFE
Saferet 20 Tablet is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy. Seek your doctor's advice as studies on pregnant women and animals have shown significant harmful effects to the developing baby.
Lactation
CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR
Saferet 20 Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Driving
UNSAFE
Saferet 20 Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Your night vision may get worse during your treatment. This can happen suddenly. Drowsiness and dizziness have been reported very rarely. This may affect your driving ability.
Kidney
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Saferet 20 Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Saferet 20 Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
If you experience excessive tiredness, puffy eyes and difficulty in urination while taking this medicine, inform your doctor and stop the therapy.
Liver
UNSAFE
Saferet 20 Tablet is probably unsafe to use in patients with liver disease and should be avoided. Please consult your doctor.

What if you miss a dose of Saferet Tablet?

If you miss a dose of Saferet 20 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
