Roxaryl 75mg Tablet is also commonly prescribed to prevent stomach ulcers and heartburn caused due to the use of pain killers. It must be swallowed whole with water before or after a meal. The medicine must be taken in dose and duration advised by the doctor. This medicine should relieve indigestion and heartburn within a few hours. If the symptoms persist or get worse even after 14 days of treatment, you should consult your doctor immediately. Do not take this medicine in severe stomach disease. You can help the medicine work better by eating smaller meals more often and avoiding spicy or oily foods.

Most people who take it do not have any side effects, but the most common include fatigue, drowsiness, headache, constipation, diarrhea and muscle pain. If you do get a side effect, it is usually mild and will go away when you stop taking this medicine or as you adjust to it. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects bother you or do not go away.

Taking Roxaryl with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects

Dasatinib (Oral Route)

Roxatidine may reduce blood levels and efficacy of Dasatinib. Roxatidine may reduce blood levels and efficacy of Dasatinib.

Pazopanib (Oral Route)

Roxatidine may reduce blood levels of Pazopanib. Roxatidine may reduce blood levels of Pazopanib.

Cefpodoxime Proxetil (Oral Route)

To take Cefpodoxime Proxetil, ensure a gap of at least 2 hours before taking Roxatidine. Roxatidine may reduce blood levels of Cefpodoxime Proxetil.

If concurrent use is essential, your doctor may recommend you to take Ketoconazole with an acidic drink (like cola), monitor your treatment and adjust the doses as per the observations. Roxatidine may reduce blood levels of Ketoconazole.

Roxaryl 75mg Tablet may be taken with or without food. It can be taken once daily before bedtime or twice daily in the morning and before bedtime, as recommended.

Roxaryl 75mg Tablet may have some serious side effects, but these are rare. These side effects may include hives, skin rash, itching, hoarseness and difficulty in breathing or swallowing. Another serious symptom may be swelling of the face, throat, tongue, lips, eyes, hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs. Inform your doctor in case you notice any of the mentioned symptoms.

What are the dos and don’ts while taking Roxaryl 75mg Tablet?

Avoid taking aspirin and other painkillers used to treat arthritis, period pain or headache. These medicines may irritate the stomach and make your condition worse. Contact your doctor who may suggest other medicines. Avoid coffee, tea, cocoa and cola drinks because these contain ingredients that may irritate your stomach. Eat smaller, more frequent meals. Eat slowly and chew your food carefully. Try not to rush at meal times. You should stop or cut down on smoking.
