There is limited data available on the use of Rafacol Tablet CR in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.

Liver
CAUTION
Rafacol Tablet CR should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment may be needed.
Use of Rafacol Tablet CR is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease as the data available in these patients is very limited.

Interaction with drugs
Taking Rafacol with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects
Severe
Cholera Vaccine (Inactivated) (Oral Route)
It is recommended to wait at least 3 months after discontinuing a high dose of Budesonide before taking Cholera Vaccine (Inactivated).
Severe
Posaconazole (Oral Route)
Do not consume Budesonide with Posaconazole. If concurrent use is essential, watch out for symptoms such as moon-face, flushing, increased bruising or acne and consult your doctor if you experience them. They may adjust the dose of Budesonide accordingly. Posaconazole may raise blood levels of Budesonide.
Severe
Posaconazole (Injection Route)
Do not consume Budesonide with Posaconazole. If concurrent use is essential, watch out for symptoms such as moon-face, flushing, increased bruising or acne and consult your doctor if you experience them. They may adjust the dose of Budesonide accordingly. Posaconazole may raise blood levels of Budesonide.

Purified Vi Polysaccharide Typhoid Vaccine (Injection Route)
It is recommended to wait at least 3 months after discontinuing a high dose of Budesonide before taking Purified Vi Polysaccharide Typhoid Vaccine.

Rafacol Tablet CR is effective if used in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Do not stop taking it even if you see improvement in your condition. If you stop using Rafacol Tablet CR too early, the symptoms may return or worsen.
Rafacol Tablet CR, being a steroid, tends to decrease bone density, but this is usually seen in patients who take Rafacol Tablet CR in high doses and for a very long time. Take Rafacol Tablet CR as per the doctor’s advice to decrease the chances of developing decreased bone density.
If you forget a dose of Rafacol Tablet CR, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next scheduled dose in the prescribed time. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one as this may increase the chances of developing side effects.
Rafacol Tablet CR may weaken the immune system; however, it is more common in people who take Rafacol Tablet CR orally (tablet or capsule).
