Peroduo Gel is a combination of two medicines: Adapalene Topical and Benzoyl Peroxide which treat acne (pimples). Adapalene Topical is a form of vitamin A and Benzoyl Peroxide is a keratolytic medicine. Together, they prevent accumulation of the sebum (skin’s natural oil), unblock the pores and allow natural exfoliation of the outer layers of skin. Benzoyl Peroxide additionally penetrates into the skin and kills acne-causing bacteria.
Peroduo Gel may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Peroduo Gel is probably safe to use during lactation.
Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
