Overview

Introduction

Nortex TZ Tablet is a combination medicine that is used to treat diarrhea and dysentery. It prevents the growth of microorganisms to treat bacterial infections. It also promotes the growth of good bacteria in the gut for proper digestion.

Nortex TZ Tablet is advised to be taken as per the prescription or as suggested by the doctor. It should be taken with food, but it must be taken at a fixed time to ensure better efficacy. Do not consume more than the recommended dose, as this may have harmful effects on your body. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. The treatment must be completed even if you feel better to ensure better efficacy of the medicine.

Nortex TZ Tablet may lead to some side effects such as nausea, headaches, dryness of mouth, etc. To overcome any such side effects, it is advised to eat a healthy balanced diet and drink plenty of fluid. How Nortex TZ Tablet works

Nortex TZ Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Tinidazole, Norfloxacin, and Lactobacillus. Tinidazole is an antibiotic which kills bacteria and other infectious microorganisms by damaging the DNA. Norfloxacin is also an antibiotic which kills bacteria by preventing them from reproducing and repairing themselves. Together, they treat your infection effectively. Lactobacillus is a live microorganism which restores the balance of good bacteria in the intestine that may get upset with antibiotic use or due to intestinal infections.

The use of Nortex TZ is considered to be harmful for patients with known allergy to norfloxacin, tinidazole or any other excipient. It should also be preferably avoided in patients with history of any inflammation of the tendons (tendinitis) or tendon rupture seen with the use of norfloxacin or any other medicine which belongs to the same group (quinolone group) of antimicrobial agents and in patients with some neurological disorders.

Q. Can Nortex TZ increase the risk of tendon rupture?

Yes, Nortex TZ contains Norfloxacin, which is known to increase the risk of tendon rupture, commonly in the achilles tendon. Tendon problems can happen in people of all ages who take Nortex TZ. Inform your health care provider if you hear or feel a snap or pop, have severe pain, rapid or immediate bruising after an accident, and are unable to use the affected arm or leg, you may have a tendon rupture.

Q. What if I don't get better after using Nortex TZ?

Inform your doctor if you don't feel better after finishing the full course of treatment. Also, inform him if your symptoms are getting worse while using this medicine.

Q. Can I stop taking Nortex TZ when I feel better?

No, do not stop taking Nortex TZ and complete the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cured.

Q. What if I miss my dose?

Take Nortex TZ as soon as you remember it. However, do not take it if it's almost time for your next dose. Also, do not take an extra dose to make up for your missed dose.
