Nitcol 200mg Tablet is used in the treatment of diarrhoea and parasitic worm infections.

How to use Nitcol Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Nitcol 200mg Tablet is to be taken with food.

How Nitcol Tablet works

Nitazoxanide belongs to the class of medications called antiparasitic and antiviral agents. It inhibits the production of certain chemicals and substances essential for energy metabolism and growth of the parasite.

Expert advice for Nitcol Tablet

• Nitazoxanide should always be taken with food. • Tell your doctor if you are suffering from liver disease; kidney disease; or HIV infection or problems related to immune system. • Caution to be exercised if you are more than 65 years. • Tell your doctor if you are or planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding. • Patients allergic to nitazoxanide or any of its ingredients should not take it.  • Do not give it to patients with <1 year of age.

Nitcol 200mg Tablet is probably safe to use during pregnancy.

Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.
Nitcol 200mg Tablet should be used with caution during lactation. Breast feeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.

If you are taking Nitcol 200mg Tablet, monitor the baby for diarrhea.
Nitcol 200mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired,
or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
There is limited information available on the use of Nitcol
200mg Tablet in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.
There is limited information available on the use of Nitcol
200mg Tablet in patients with liver disease. Please consult your doctor.
