How to use Nebracin Eye Ointment

This medicine is for external use only. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the tube close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the tube and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid.

How Nebracin Eye Ointment works

Nebracin Eye Ointment is an antibiotic. It stops bacterial growth in the eye by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. This treats your eye infection.

  • Your doctor has prescribed Nebracin Eye Ointment to treat bacterial infections of the eye. 
  • Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. 
  • Nebracin Eye Ointment may cause damage to cornea on long-term use. 
  • Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute immediately after instilling the drop. 
  • Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution. 
  • Stinging sensation may occur for 1-2 mins. Notify your doctor if it persists for longer. 
  • Make sure to use within 4 weeks of opening the bottle.

Hi i have been using nebracin bm eye drops for treat eye allergy. But now it is out market. So pls pls provide me the substitute.

There are substitutes but I won't prescribe it as it contain steroid which has long term side effects. It should be taken only under supervision.
From many years i always has a dandruff problem in my eye lashes but free from dandruff in my head. I often consulted doc. about it. They asked me about my head dandruff because according to them, it happens only if dandruff is found in head. But here case is different only eyelash dandruff. I used many antibiotic creams like (nove ) now tell me proper treatment of it pls.

Usually, Nebracin starts working soon after taking it. However, it may take some days to kill all the harmful bacteria and make you feel better.

Q. What if I don't get better after using Nebracin?

Inform your doctor if you don't feel better after finishing the full course of treatment. Your doctor may increase the dose of Nebracin or switch you to an alternate option, which may work for you. Also, inform him if your symptoms are getting worse while using this medicine.

Q. Can I stop taking Nebracin if I feel better?

No, do not stop taking Nebracin and complete the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cured.
