Montus LA 10mg/5mg/200mg Tablet SR is used in the prevention of asthma. It helps in relaxing the muscles of the air passages, thus widening them and making it easier to breathe. It also relieves allergic symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, itching, swelling and rashes.

Montus LA 10mg/5mg/200mg Tablet SR can be taken with or without food. Take it at the same time to get the most benefit. It is advised to have it 2 hours before exercise if you have exercise-induced asthma. It should be taken as your doctor's advice. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. Swallow the tablets whole with a drink of water. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you. It does not cure sudden breathing problems, so always carry a medicated inhaler with you.

Usually, it is recommended to take Montelukast in the evening when it is being used for asthma and allergic rhinitis (cough and cold due to allergy). However, the exact reason for this is not yet known. Some studies have shown that there is no difference in effectiveness whether Montelukast is taken in the evening or morning. Hence, take the medicine as directed by your doctor.
