Meftal-P Suspension

Follow the prescribed dose, timing, and method when giving Meftal-P Suspension to your child. Give it orally, preferably after food, to reduce the chance of stomach upset. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking this medicine, give the same dose again. Do not give more than the recommended dose for faster relief, as this may cause unwanted side effects in your child.

Your child may exhibit side effects like nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, heartburn, and diarrhea after taking this medicine. These side effects are temporary and are likely to subside once your child's body adapts to the medicine. In case they persist or become bothersome for your child, do consult your child's doctor on a priority basis.

Before administering Meftal-P Suspension to your child, inform the doctor if your child is allergic to any medicine or products or has a history of any heart problems, birth defects, liver disease, kidney disease, lung disease, or bleeding disorder. This information is critical for dose alteration and helps in planning your child's overall treatment.

• Pain relief : Meftal-P Suspension helps relieve pain in conditions such as headaches, body aches, muscle pain, toothaches, and minor injuries.

The dose of Meftal-P Suspension depends on the severity of the pain, age, and the child’s overall health. It is usually taken two or three times a day to help relieve pain and inflammation. However, the doctor will decide the right dose and duration of the treatment.

Give Meftal-P Suspension exactly as prescribed, and do not exceed the recommended dose. Try to give the medicine at evenly spaced times if multiple doses are advised during the day. Use it only for the duration recommended by your doctor. If your symptoms do not improve or worsen, consult your doctor.

Missed Dose

Do not panic. Unless your doctor has advised a specific regimen for your child, you may give the missed dose as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, do not give a double dose and follow the prescribed dosing schedule.

Overdose

An overdose may cause lethargy, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, gastrointestinal bleeding, kidney dysfunction, slow breathing, and epigastric pain.

In case of overdose, the doctor may consider standard measures to remove any unabsorbed drug.

• Meftal-P Suspension should be given to children exactly as prescribed by the doctor, and the dose and frequency should be carefully tracked to avoid overdosing.
• Maintain a record of your child’s temperature and symptoms while using Meftal-P Suspension, and consult the doctor if there is no improvement.
• Avoid giving Meftal-P Suspension with other NSAIDs (such as ibuprofen, diclofenac, or aspirin) unless advised by your doctor.
• Ensure your child drinks plenty of fluids and gets adequate rest, as hydration and sleep support recovery during illness.
• Inform your doctor if your child has kidney or liver disease before using Meftal-P Suspension.
• Avoid using Meftal-P Suspension if the child is dehydrated due to vomiting, diarrhea, or excessive heat, and consult the doctor instead.
• Stop using Meftal-P Suspension and seek urgent medical care if your child develops severe stomach pain, black stools, or vomiting of blood.
• Stop the medicine and consult the doctor immediately if allergic symptoms such as rash, swelling, or breathing difficulty occur.
• Do not use Meftal-P Suspension routinely for fever in children unless prescribed by a doctor.
• Consult your doctor if symptoms persist or if repeated use of Meftal-P Suspension is required.
