Ranibizumab(0.5 mg)

Uses

Lucentis 0.5 mg injection is used in the treatment of wet form of age-related macular degeneration (growth of abnormal blood vessels in eye leading to gradual loss of vision), diabetic macular edema (accumulation of fluid in eye of diabetic patients) and macular oedema due to retinal vein occlusion.

How it works

Lucentis 0.5 mg injection injection belongs to a class of medications called vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) antagonists. Lucentis 0.5 mg injection binds extracellular VEGF thereby stopping abnormal blood vessel growth and leakage in the eye(s) which may lead to vision loss in people with wet AMD.
