This medicine is only one part of the treatment program which should also include a healthy diet, regular exercise, smoking cessation, moderation of alcohol intake, and weight reduction. You can eat normally while taking this medicine, but try to avoid foods that are high in fat.

Taking Lostatin with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects

Atazanavir (Oral Route)

Do not consume Lovastatin with Atazanavir. Atazanavir may raise blood levels of Lovastatin.

Ciclosporin (Oral Route)

Do not consume Lovastatin with Ciclosporin. If concurrent use is essential, watch for symptoms such as unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness and consult your doctor. Ciclosporin may raise blood levels of Lovastatin.
