Lorin 500mg Capsule is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that fights and stops the growth of many types of bacteria. This medicine should be taken on an empty stomach. Use it regularly at evenly spaced intervals as per the schedule prescribed by your doctor. Taking it at the same time every day will help you to remember to take it. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.

Stopping the medicine too early may lead to the infection returning or worsening. The total duration of treatment and precise dosage will be decided by your doctor, depending on the type of infection that you have and how well you respond to the medication.

Taking Lorin with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects

Severe

Cholera Vaccine (Inactivated) (Oral Route)

Do not consume Cholera Vaccine (Inactivated) two weeks before and at least 10 days after consuming Ampicillin. Please consult your doctor. Ampicillin may reduce the efficacy of Cholera Vaccine (Inactivated).

Severe

Purified Vi Polysaccharide Typhoid Vaccine (Injection Route)

Ampicillin may reduce the efficacy of Purified Vi Polysaccharide Typhoid Vaccine. Ampicillin may reduce the efficacy of Purified Vi Polysaccharide Typhoid Vaccine.

Amikacin (Injection Route)

Talk to your doctor if you notice any unusual symptoms.

Pemetrexed (Injection Route)

Your doctor may monitor your creatinine clearance along with your overall treatment and adjust the doses as per the observations. Ampicillin may slow down the removal of Pemetrexed from the body.

If concurrent use is essential, ensure a gap of at least 2 hours between taking Ampicillin and Chloroquine.
