LinVAS Tablet is a medicine used in the treatment of Noncirrhotic Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis, Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) with comorbidities (like obesity, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, Dyslipidemia or Metabolic Syndrome), and high cholesterol in diabetes (diabetic dyslipidemia).
LinVAS Tablet may be taken with or without food, at the same time each day, to get the most benefit and you should not stop taking it unless your doctor recommends it. It is important to stay on the diet and exercise program recommended by your doctor while taking this medicine. Your lifestyle plays a big part in maintaining a healthy body weight, which will help protect your liver to a great extent.
The most common side effects of this medicine are flatulence, indigestion, abdominal distension, increased body temperature, and weakness. These are usually not severe. Please consult your doctor if the side effects worry you or if they do not go away.
Before taking this medicine, let your doctor know if you have ever had kidney disease, heart or pancreas problems, or if you drink a lot of alcohol. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor before taking it. Some other medicines you are taking may interfere with it so make sure your doctor knows about all the other medicines you are using. Limit your alcohol intake while taking this medicine because it can degrade your liver health. You may need regular tests such as liver function test, kidney function and blood glucose levels to check that the medicine is working properly.
In Diabetic dyslipidemia (high cholesterol in diabetes)
LinVAS Tablet helps control high cholesterol in diabetic patients. High levels of cholesterol can cause your blood vessels to narrow (atherosclerosis). Lowering the amount of cholesterol reduces the chances of heart diseases and helps you remain healthier for longer. Taking this medicine regularly along with proper diet and exercise will help you live a normal, healthy life.

How LinVAS Tablet works
LinVAS Tablet contains Saroglitazar, a dual action peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) inhibitor that aids in the management of high cholesterol, especially triglycerides, as well as blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes. It acts by a unique mechanism in which it reduces the synthesis and secretion of triglycerides (a type of lipid or cholesterol in blood). It also improves insulin sensitivity of the body for better utilization of the existing insulin and hence lowers the blood sugar levels.

I am suffering from liver disorder . Sgpt and sgot is increasing day by day plzz provide solution
Dr. Anshul Varshney
Physician
Hello, Welcome to 1mg. I am Anshul Varshney for your help. Yes your liver enzymes are raised which requires evaluation of the cause. Most common causes of such liver derangement's are Alcohol, Viral hepatitis, Non alcoholic fatty liver disease, Drugs. Since you don't consume any alcohol, so alcohol induced hepatitis is ruled out. So, we should evaluate the other causes, and if no other cause is found, you would require to discuss with your doctor about stopping this drug. I would advise you to get following investigations done: 1. HBsAg for Hepatitis B. 2. Anti HCV Antibody for Hepatitis C. 3. Ultrasound Abdomen. A lot many times, the liver dysfunction is due to Non Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD). So, if you have any evidence of fatty liver in Ultrasound and your other tests are negative, this rise is liver enzyme would be attributed to NAFLD. For this you need to reduce your weight, reduce fat in diet and if required your doctor may prescribe you Ursedeoxycolic Acid for the same. Make sure that you don't take any pain killers without your doctor's advise. I hope it helps. Stay Healthy
