Product introduction
Glucobay M50 Tablet should be taken with food. To get the most benefit, take it regularly at the same time each day. Your doctor will decide what dose is best for you, which may change depending on how it works and your blood sugar levels.
Keep taking this medicine, even if you feel well or your blood sugar levels are controlled. If you stop taking it without consulting your doctor, your blood sugar levels could rise, putting you at risk of kidney damage, blindness, nerve problems, and limb loss. As your doctor advises, you should follow a healthy diet, regular exercise, and weight reduction. Your lifestyle plays a big part in controlling diabetes.
Limited data is available for this combination. Some individuals may experience mild gastrointestinal side effects such as bloating, flatulence, abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, or nausea, especially during the initial phase of treatment. These effects are usually temporary and tend to improve as the body adjusts. If symptoms persist or become troublesome, consult a doctor.
You should not take it if you have type 1 diabetes mellitus if you have diabetic ketoacidosis (high levels of acid in your blood), or if you have severe kidney or liver disease. Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have ever had heart disease. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor before taking it. Your blood sugar levels should be checked regularly, and your doctor may advise blood tests to monitor your blood cell counts and liver function.

Benefits of Glucobay M Tablet
In Type 2 diabetes mellitus, the body either does not use insulin properly or does not produce enough, leading to high blood sugar levels. Glucobay M50 Tablet helps control blood sugar. How to use Glucobay M Tablet
How Glucobay M Tablet works
Quick tips
- You have been prescribed this combination medicine as it can control blood sugar better than metformin alone.
- You should continue to exercise regularly, eat a healthy diet, and take your other diabetes medicines along with Glucobay M50 Tablet.
- Take it with food to lower your chance of having an upset stomach.
- It can cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) when used with other antidiabetic medicines, alcohol, or if you delay or miss a meal.Â
- Always carry some sugary food or fruit juice if you experience hypoglycemia symptoms such as cold sweats, cool, pale skin, tremors, and anxiety.
- Monitor your blood sugar level regularly while taking this medicine.
- Tell your doctor immediately if you experience any deep or rapid breathing, persistent nausea, vomiting, or stomach pain, as Glucobay M50 Tablet may cause a rare but serious condition called lactic acidosis, which is an excess of lactic acid in the blood.
- Let your doctor know if you feel excessively thirsty, pass urine more frequently, or get tired easily. These are signs of very high blood sugar levels, and your treatment may need to be adjusted.
