Product introduction

Gencalm 5mg Tablet should be taken with or without food. Take it at the same time each day, as this helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body. Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor, and if you have missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember it. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. This medication must not be stopped suddenly without talking to your doctor, as it may worsen your symptoms.


Some common side effects of this medicine include dry mouth, dizziness, skin reactions, insomnia, and muscular weakness. Initially, this medicine may cause a sudden drop in blood pressure when you change positions. Rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down. It may also cause dizziness and sleepiness. Do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you.


Before taking it, inform your doctor if you are suffering from thyroid or kidney problems, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, glaucoma, or any heart problems. Interaction with drugs

Taking Gencalm with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects
Life-threatening

Iopamidol (Injection Route)

Do not consume Trifluoperazine 48 hours before and At least 12 hours after consuming Iopamidol.
Life-threatening

Iohexol (Injection Route)

Do not consume Trifluoperazine 48 hours before and At least 24 hours after consuming Iohexol.
Severe

Moxifloxacin (Oral Route)

Do not consume Moxifloxacin with Trifluoperazine. If concurrent use is essential, watch out for symptoms such as muscle spasms, tremors, tiredness, nausea, reduced appetite, palpitations, or numbness. Your doctor may monitor your heart functioning regularly.
Severe

Lithium carbonate (Oral Route)

If concurrent use is essential, watch out for symptoms such as double vision, weakness, dizziness, impaired coordination, or confusion and consult your doctor if you experience them. Your doctor may monitor your ECG frequently and discontinue the medicines if required. Lithium carbonate may reduce blood levels of active form of Trifluoperazine.
