How Fibrosure Tablet works

Fibrosure Tablet works by blocking the action of progesterone, a hormone that plays a key role in the growth of uterine fibroids. Inhibiting progesterone receptors helps reduce fibroid size and helps control symptoms like heavy bleeding and pain associated with the condition.

Quick tips

  • Take Fibrosure Tablet at the same time every day to help maintain consistent levels in your body and avoid missed doses.
  • Do not stop taking the medicine on your own, even if symptoms improve. Always follow your doctor’s advice on how long to continue treatment.
  • Use nonhormonal contraception like condoms or a copper intrauterine device (IUD) during treatment, as this medicine can affect pregnancy.
  • Inform your doctor if you experience heavy or prolonged bleeding, abdominal pain, or missed periods beyond what is expected during treatment.
  • Attend all follow-up appointments, including ultrasound scans or blood tests, to monitor fibroid size and check for side effects early.
  • Eat a balanced diet rich in iron (like green leafy vegetables, lentils, or iron-fortified cereals) to help manage or prevent anemia, especially if you had heavy bleeding before starting treatment.

Frequently asked questions

Fibrosure Tablet is used to manage symptoms of uterine fibroids, such as heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding, lower abdominal pain, and pressure in the pelvic area. It helps improve quality of life by shrinking the fibroids and making the symptoms more manageable without the need for surgery in many cases.
You may start to notice a reduction in bleeding and discomfort within a few weeks of starting treatment. However, significant shrinkage in fibroid size usually takes a few months. Your doctor will monitor your response to treatment and may adjust the dose or duration based on how well the medicine is working for you.
Yes, many women experience lighter periods or even temporary absence of menstruation while on Fibrosure Tablet. This is a common effect and usually not a cause for concern. Once the treatment is stopped, your periods typically return to normal within a few weeks.
Fibrosure Tablet can control symptoms and reduce fibroid size during treatment, but it does not cure fibroids permanently. The fibroids may grow back or symptoms may return after stopping the medicine. However, for many women, it offers a valuable non-surgical option to manage the condition effectively.
Fibrosure Tablet is not a hormone itself, but it acts on hormone receptors. It blocks the progesterone receptors in the uterus, which helps reduce the effects of progesterone on fibroid growth and menstrual bleeding.
Yes, pregnancy is still possible while taking Fibrosure Tablet. However, the medicine can harm an early pregnancy. Use a non-hormonal contraceptive method (like condoms or copper IUD) during treatment, unless you are specifically advised otherwise by your doctor.
Some medicines may interfere with how Fibrosure Tablet works. Always inform your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbal products you are using. This helps avoid harmful interactions and ensures that the treatment remains safe and effective.
Yes, regular follow-ups are important while you're taking Fibrosure Tablet. Your doctor may recommend blood tests or ultrasound scans to check the size of the fibroids and ensure that your liver and overall health are not affected by the medicine. These check-ups help your doctor decide how long you should continue the treatment and whether any changes are needed.
