You may be monitored with blood sugar, liver function, vision and thyroid function tests while on treatment with ethionamide.
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.
Ethionamide is not recommended in children below 12 years unless the organisms are found to be definitely resistant to primary therapy.

Ethiocid 250 mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Ethiocid 250 mg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor. Dose adjustment may be needed in patients with end stage kidney disease.
Ethiocid 250 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Ethiocid 250 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Use of Ethiocid 250 mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with the severe liver disease.
If you miss a dose of Ethiocid 250 mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
