How Esoz Injection works

Esoz 40 mg Injection is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach which helps in relief of acid related indigestion and heartburn.

Pregnancy

Esoz 40 mg Injection may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation

Esoz 40 mg Injection is safe to use during lactation. Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.
Driving

Kidney
SAFE
Esoz 40 mg Injection is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Esoz 40 mg Injection is recommended.

Liver
Esoz 40 mg Injection should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Esoz 40 mg Injection may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

What if you miss a dose of Esoz Injection?

If you miss a dose of Esoz 40 mg Injection, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

  • Inform your doctor if you do not feel better after taking it for 14 days as you may be suffering from some other problem that needs attention.

Esoz can be taken by a patient undergoing dialysis in a manner as prescribed by the doctor. This is extensively bound to proteins in the body, so, it is not expected to be removed by dialysis.

Esoz can be taken with domperidone. Esoz decreases the acid secretion and domperidone increases the gut motility and helps in reducing nausea and vomiting.
