Overview

Introduction

Cofheal D 2.5 mg/1.5 mg/10 mg Syrup is used in the treatment of dry cough. It provides relief by reducing the activity of cough center in the brain. It thins and loosens mucus in the nose, windpipe and lungs making it easier to cough out.

Cofheal D 2.5 mg/1.5 mg/10 mg Syrup also narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose. It can be taken with or without food, preferably at a fixed time. Take this medicine in the dose and duration advised by the doctor. In case you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. But, never take a double dose to make up for the missed one. It is beneficial to have plenty of fluids while taking this medication. If you are suffering from any lung, liver or kidney disease, inform your doctor before you start taking this medicine.

Nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, headache, loss of appetite, insomnia, rash, and diarrhea may occur as side effects of this medicine. Consult your doctor if the symptoms worsen or are accompanied by high fever or persistent headache. It may also cause dizziness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus. Avoid alcohol while taking this medicine, as it may worsen your side effects.

How to use Cofheal D Syrup

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Cofheal D 2.5 mg/1.5 mg/10 mg Syrup may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Take it with food if stomach upset occurs.

How Cofheal D Syrup works

Cofheal D 2.5 mg/1.5 mg/10 mg Syrup is a combination of three medicines: Phenylephrine, Chlorpheniramine Maleate and Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide, which relieves dry cough. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose. Chlorpheniramine Maleate is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of cough center in the brain.
