How Cefaxone Injection works

Cefaxone 1gm Injection is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria by preventing them from forming the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is needed for them to survive.

Alcohol
Interaction with alcohol is unknown. Please consult your doctor.
Pregnancy
SAFE
Cefaxone 1gm Injection is safe to use during pregnancy.
Adequate and well-controlled human studies have shown low or no risk.
Lactation
CAUTION
Cefaxone 1gm Injection should be used with caution during lactation. Breast feeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.
Driving
Cefaxone 1gm Injection may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney
SAFE
Cefaxone 1gm Injection is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Cefaxone 1gm Injection is recommended.
However, inform your doctor if you have any underlying kidney disease.
Liver
Cefaxone 1gm Injection should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Cefaxone 1gm Injection may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Dose adjustment of Cefaxone 1gm Injection is not recommended in patients with mild to moderate liver disease.

What if you miss a dose of Cefaxone Injection?

If you miss a dose of Cefaxone 1gm Injection, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Loteprednol is used in the treatment of inflammatory and allergic conditions of the superficial layers of the eye, such as allergic conjunctivitis (allergic itching and redness of the whites of the eye, with tearing), conjunctivitis that occurs as part of acne rosacea (persistent redness over the areas of the face and nose), superficial punctate keratitis (inflammation of cornea), iritis (Inflammation of the interior eye structures), cyclitis (inflammation of cilliary body of the eye). It is also used in the treatment of postoperative inflammation of the eye after the eye surgery.Tobramycin is used as an injection for treating bacterial infections of the skin, heart, stomach, brain, spinal cord, lungs, and urinary tract (bladder and kidneys). It is also used in the treatment of cystic fibrosis. In the form of eye-drops, it can be used to treat eye infections.
