Your child’s medicine at a glance

CEFACURE 125 MG TABLET DT may be given with or without food. However, if your child develops a stomach upset, prefer giving it with food. It is usually given three times a day but this may vary depending on the type and severity of the infection. Stick to the dose, time, and way prescribed by the doctor. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking this medicine, give the same dose again. Avoid giving a double dose if it is almost time for the next dose.

How CEFACURE (MANO) Tablet DT works

CEFACURE 125 MG TABLET DT is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is essential for the survival of the bacteria. This activity stops the infection-causing bacteria from growing further and prevents the infection from spreading without making them resistant to further treatment.

Quick tips

  • Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply, become resistant, or cause another infection.
  • Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect.
  • Contact your doctor if your child has diarrhea that goes on for more than 4 days or if it is severe and watery, or contains blood.
  • Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. This medicine is not to be taken in such cases.
  • Only give CEFACURE 125 MG TABLET DT to your child for their current infection. Never save medicine for future illnesses.
  • Stop this medicine and immediately report to your child’s doctor in case your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulties while taking this medicine.
  • You may see white patches inside your child’s mouth and throat after a prolonged intake of CEFACURE 125 MG TABLET DT. This could be due to a fungal infection. So, if your child develops any such effect, contact your doctor right away.
  • Your doctor has prescribed CEFACURE 125 MG TABLET DT to cure your infection and improve your symptoms.
  • Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping it early may make the infection to come back and harder to treat.
  • Take it with food to avoid an upset stomach.
  • Diarrhea may occur as a side effect but should stop when your course is complete. Inform your doctor if it doesn't stop or if you find blood in your stools.

Interaction with drugs

Taking CEFACURE (MANO) with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects
Severe

Cholera Vaccine (Inactivated) (Oral Route)

Do not consume Cholera Vaccine (Inactivated) two weeks before and at least 10 days after consuming Cefalexin. Please consult your doctor. Cefalexin may reduce the efficacy of Cholera Vaccine (Inactivated).
Severe

Purified Vi Polysaccharide Typhoid Vaccine (Injection Route)

Cefalexin may reduce the efficacy of Purified Vi Polysaccharide Typhoid Vaccine. Cefalexin may reduce the efficacy of Purified Vi Polysaccharide Typhoid Vaccine.

Zinc (Oral Route)

Ensure a gap of at least 3 hours between taking Cefalexin and Zinc. Zinc may reduce blood levels of Cefalexin.
