Benefits of Balila Tablet

Managing Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar)
Hypoglycemia occurs when blood sugar levels fall too low, leading to symptoms such as sweating, dizziness, and confusion. Balila Tablet helps maintain adequate blood glucose levels, reducing the risk of sudden drops in sugar. This supports better symptom control and helps prevent complications linked with low blood sugar.

How to use Balila Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Balila Tablet may be taken with or without food.

How Balila Tablet works

Balila Tablet belongs to a group of medicines called thiazides. It works by preventing insulin release from the pancreas, helping to return the blood sugar to normal levels.

Frequently asked questions

Balila Tablet is prescribed to help prevent dangerously low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia) caused by conditions that make the body release too much insulin, such as certain pancreatic tumours or islet cell overgrowth.
Individuals should not take Balila Tablet if they have functional or reactive hypoglycaemia (blood sugar that drops after meals), or if they are allergic to diazoxide, other thiazide drugs, or any ingredient present in the medicine.
Stop Balila Tablet and get urgent care if you develop signs of a severe skin reaction (fever plus a spreading rash, swollen face or mouth, or flu-like symptoms), sudden shortness of breath or chest pressure, signs of very high blood sugar or dehydration, or signs of pericardial effusion such as breathlessness when lying flat.
Yes, Balila Tablet raises blood sugar and, in rare cases, can lead to dangerous conditions like diabetic ketoacidosis or a hyperosmolar coma, especially during illnesses. If you notice extreme thirst, very frequent urination, confusion, or vomiting, you must seek medical help immediately.
Balila Tablet can cause the body to retain salt and water and may lead to fluid overload or worsen heart failure. It has also been linked to fluid around the heart (pericardial effusion), so your doctor will monitor you for swelling, breathlessness, and changes in blood pressure.
Your doctor will check your blood sugar and urine for sugar/ketones frequently. The doctor may also do blood tests to monitor electrolytes, kidney function, liver enzymes, blood counts (for thrombocytopenia or neutropenia), and uric acid, because Balila Tablet can affect all of these.
People with reduced kidney function clear Balila Tablet more slowly, so lower doses and careful electrolyte and kidney monitoring are usually required to reduce the risk of toxicity and fluid retention.
Some people may notice temporary hair growth on the face, arms, or back during Balila Tablet treatment. Skin rashes or itching may also occur. Report any severe or sudden skin changes to your doctor immediately.
