Common

Side Effects of Amlopure are Fatigue, Ankle swelling, Sleepiness, Flushing (sense of warmth in the face, ears, neck and trunk), Headache, Nausea, Dizziness, Palpitations, Edema (swelling), Abdominal pain.

How to use Amlopure Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. AMLOPURE 2.5MG TABLET may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

AMLOPURE 2.5MG TABLET is a calcium channel blocker. It works by relaxing blood vessels which makes the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body.

  • AMLOPURE 2.5MG TABLET lowers your blood pressure and makes it easier for your heart to pump blood around your body.
  • Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes and heart attacks.
  • It may also be used to reduce the number and severity of angina attacks (chest pain caused by heart disease).
  • It can cause ankle or foot swelling. Raise your legs while you’re sitting down and talk to your doctor if it does not go away.
  • A sudden drop in your blood pressure may occur, especially when you first start taking AMLOPURE 2.5MG TABLET. To lower the chance of feeling dizzy or passing out, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down.
  • Take it at the same time every day to help you remember to take it.
  • Side effects like dizziness, headache, and flushing, and ankle or foot swelling can be experienced with its use. This may not be with everyone. Drink plenty of fluids and  try cutting down on coffee, tea and alcohol.
  • Any of the side effects other than mentioned above if occur, do consult the treating physician.

Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
AMLOPURE 2.5MG TABLET is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Driving
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
AMLOPURE 2.5MG TABLET may cause side effects such as dizziness, headaches, nausea or tiredness, all of which could affect your ability to concentrate and drive.
Kidney

AMLOPURE 2.5MG TABLET is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of AMLOPURE 2.5MG TABLET is recommended.
Liver
CAUTION
AMLOPURE 2.5MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of AMLOPURE 2.5MG TABLET may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
