How Adenocor Injection works

Adenocor 3 mg Injection is an anti-arrhythmic medication. It regulates heart beat by blocking abnormal electrical signals in the heart.

Pregnancy
WEIGH RISKS VS BENEFITS
Adenocor 3 mg Injection may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
Adenocor 3 mg Injection is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Driving
Not relevant, as Adenocor 3 mg Injection is intended for use in hospitalised patients.
Kidney
SAFE
Adenocor 3 mg Injection is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Adenocor 3 mg Injection is recommended.
Liver
Adenocor 3 mg Injection is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Adenocor 3 mg Injection may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

Expert Advice

  • Inform your doctor if you have any of the following heart problems: heart attack/ failure, or heart transplant within the last year; unusual heart rhythm (atrial fibrillation or flutter), low blood volume/ narrowing of heart valves.
  • Consult your doctor if you have narrowing of the main arteries in your neck (carotid arteries).
  • Take precautions while taking adenosine if you have recurrent fits.
  • Caution must be exercised if you have had recurrent fits or experienced difficulty in breathing and problems associated with blood pressure, urination, defecation, etc.
  • You may need to monitor your condition (ECG and blood pressure) while taking adenosine.
  • Avoid food or drinks that have caffeine before taking this drug. 
  • Tell your doctor if you are or planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.

Hello sir, I have a problem of sleeplessness 1 day just before the exam, I am unable to find out the exact reason for it because I don't feel stress kind of thing as I prepare well so there is less chance of stress but it might be something in subconscious mind which ii don't know. So sir, it's very problematic situation of sleeplessness one day before the exam due to which I could not perform well. Otherwise sleep is very good except exam day. Kindly pl suggest me any treatment for this problem? Can I take sleeping pills for one day before the exam? Kindly pl help me out. Thank you. .

Q. Is adenosine a hormone/an amino acid/nucleotides/beta blocker/calcium channel blocker?

Adenosine belongs to class of drugs called nucleosides. It acts by restoring the heart rhythm. It also relaxes blood vessels supplying the heart and increases blood flow, thereby relieving abnormal electrical activity due to compromised blood flow to heart

Q. Is Adenocor a vasopressor/does Adenocor cause vasodilation/ vasoconstriction/ bronchoconstriction?

Adenocor causes vasodilatation which may result in headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, tachycardia and flushing. It also causes bronchoconstriction resulting in breathlessness and chest discomfort

No. Adenocor has no effect on sleep

Q. Does Adenocor cause atrial fibrillation?

Yes, Adenocor can cause various types of disturbances in heart rhythm; atrial fibrillation is one of them.
