Color Doppler Thyroid

A Color Doppler - Thyroid is an imaging technique advised for high-resolution images of the thyroid and its surrounding tissues. This procedure helps detect an overactive or underactive thyroid gland. It also helps to detect abnormal growth, such as cysts or tumors in the thyroid and its exact location. This test also helps to detect goiter, a condition which causes swelling of the neck due to an enlargement of the thyroid gland.
In this procedure, a gel is rubbed onto the throat. An ultrasound probe, a plastic device, is then glided over the throat, and the images are viewed on a screen. It is a painless procedure that helps detect cancers along with diagnosis of thyroid problems. In case of thyroid cancers, doctors might advise other confirmatory tests.
