Know more about this test

The Ultrasound Level I NT/NB Scan (For 11-14 Weeks Pregnancies) is a type of ultrasound scan done between the 11th and 14th week of pregnancy. This scan checks the thickness of the fluid-filled area at the back of the baby’s neck, which is called the nuchal fold. It helps to find out if the baby is at the risk for Down syndrome or other chromosomal problems. The risk is calculated based on the thickness, the baby's age in the womb (gestational age), and the mother’s age.
If there is more fluid than normal, it indicates that the nuchal fold is thicker, which can indicate a greater likelihood of genetic problems in the baby. Abnormal results may requires additional tests such as amniocentesis to confirm the condition.
