The most common side effects of Xavitaz Injection include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, rash, and infusion site phlebitis. Taking probiotics along with this medicine may provide help.

Before using it, tell your doctor if you are allergic to any antibiotics or have any kidney or liver problems. Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should consult their doctor before using it. Seizures and other neurological events may occur, particularly in patients with impaired kidney function. How Xavitaz Injection works

Xavitaz Injection works by combining two actions to treat serious bacterial infections. Ceftazidime is an antibiotic that kills bacteria by interfering with the formation of their cell wall, which is essential for bacterial survival. Avibactam protects ceftazidime by blocking certain enzymes (beta-lactamases) produced by resistant bacteria that would otherwise break down the antibiotic. Together, this combination helps ceftazidime remain active and effectively kill bacteria that are difficult to treat due to resistance.

Quick tips

Diarrhea may occur as a side effect of Xavitaz Injection but should stop when your course is complete. Inform your doctor if it doesn't stop or if you find blood in your stools.
Stick to simple meals, avoid rich or spicy food, and drink plenty of water while taking Xavitaz Injection.
Inform your doctor immediately if you develop an itchy rash, swelling of the face, throat, or tongue, or breathing difficulties while taking Xavitaz Injection.
Xavitaz Injection can cause confusion, hallucinations, seizures, and coma. Seek immediate medical attention for treatment, dosage adjustment, or discontinuation of the treatment.
