Vomivert 20 mg/40 mg Tablet


Overview

Introduction

Vomivert 20 mg/40 mg Tablet is used to treat vertigo. It is a combination medicine which acts by relaxing vascular smooth muscles of the blood vessels of the ear and improves the blood circulation. It also blocks the action of a chemical messenger that is responsible for lightheadedness in vertigo.

Vomivert 20 mg/40 mg Tablet should be taken without food. Take this medicine as advised by your doctor and preferably at a fixed time each day. Do not skip any doses, but if you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. Finish the full course of treatment and never stop this medicine suddenly without talking to your doctor.

Some common side effects of using this medication are nausea and dyspepsia. It can cause dizziness and sleepiness as well. So, do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. It may also cause weight gain and to prevent it you can eat a healthy balanced diet, avoid snacking with high-calorie food and exercise regularly.

How to use Vomivert Tablet

How Vomivert Tablet works

Vomivert 20 mg/40 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Cinnarizine and Dimenhydrinate. Cinnarizine is a calcium channel antagonist which works by preventing constriction of the blood vessels of the inner ear. This improves the microcirculation of the ear. Dimenhydrinate is an antiallergic. It blocks the action of a chemical messenger (histamine) that is responsible for light-headedness in vertigo.

What is the treatment for vertigo. We are taking treatment from Dr.Rahul Nadkarni MBBS . at vile parle(e), but so far not much improvement seen, though she is taking treatment since Saturday morning. Yes, Vomivert can make you feel drowsy. Avoid driving, operating machinery, working at heights or participating in potentially dangerous activities until you know how this medicine affects you.

Q. Can Vomivert cause indigestion?

Vomivert may cause indigestion. However, taking it with or after food can prevent indigestion. Talk to your doctor if indigestion persists.

Q. Are there any contraindications associated with the use of Vomivert?

Vomivert is considered to be harmful for patients with hypersensitivity to the active substances, diphenhydramine or other antihistamines of similar structure or to any of the excipients. Vomivert should be avoided in patients with glaucoma, fits, increased intracranial pressure, alcohol abuse, urinating issues, liver or kidney disease. It is also not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Q. What if I accidentally take too much of this medicine?

Visit the nearest emergency department if you accidentally take too much of this medicine. Symptoms of an overdose may include tiredness, pupil dilation, unable to urinate, dry mouth, flushing, fast heart rate, sweating, headache, dizziness and shakiness.

Q. What if I miss a dose of Vomivert?

If you miss a dose of Vomivert, you should skip the missed dose and take the next dose at its usual time and quantity. You should not take a double dose of Vomivert to make up for a missed dose.

Q. Can I stop taking Vomivert if I feel well?

You should not stop taking Vomivert until your doctor asks you to. If you stop taking Vomivert earlier than advised, the symptoms of vertigo may reappear (dizziness and spinning).

Q. What are the instructions for storage and disposal of Vomivert?

Keep this medicine in the container or the pack it came in, tightly closed. Store it according to the instructions mentioned on the pack or label. Dispose of the unused medicine. Make sure it is not consumed by pets, children and other people.
