Overview

Introduction

Vomilast Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of nausea or vomiting during pregnancy. It blocks signals to reach the brain that trigger the feeling of nausea and vomiting.

Vomilast Tablet is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.

The most common side effects are dryness in the mouth, constipation, and lightheadedness. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects. This medicine can also cause dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it can worsen your sleepiness.

How Vomilast Tablet works

Vomilast Tablet is a combination of three medicines: doxylamine, vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) and folic acid, which treats nausea and vomiting associated with pregnancy. Doxylamine is an antihistamine which works by blocking the action of a chemical messenger (histamine), thereby controlling nausea, vomiting, and dizziness. Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) is a form of vitamin B which possesses anti-nausea properties. Folic is also a form of vitamin B which provides essential nutrients.

Vomilast Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Larger doses or prolonged use of Vomilast Tablet may cause sleepiness and other effects in the baby
Driving
UNSAFE
Vomilast Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Kidney
SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Vomilast Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Vomilast Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Liver

plz take Vomilast. and if ur vomiting still does not settles plz go to hospital and get admitted as intractable vomiting can cause dehydration and ketosis
My wife is 13 week pregnent her docter change her tablet from mvista to doxynate plus me I know the reason is both tablet aee same. Docter asked to taje doxynate plus 2 tablet at bed time.please suggest.

Doxynate is tablet to stop vomiting dear. It is ok to take them at bed time. It is widely recommended to take for nausea and vomiting of pregnancy.

No, it is not advisable to breastfeed while using Vomilast. This medicine can pass into the breast milk and may harm the baby. Inform your doctor that you are breastfeeding if you are advised to take this medicine.

Yes, the use of Vomilast can cause dry mouth. If you experience dry mouth, drink plenty of water. Take regular sips during the day and keep some water by your bed at night. Try to avoid foods that are acidic (like lemons), spicy and salty.
