Expert advice for Azelaic Acid Topical

Do not use azelaic acid for more than 12 months at any time.
Do not take if you are allergic to azelaic acid or any of its ingredients. Before applying the cream/gel, clean the skin thoroughly with plain water and pat it dry. Azelaic acid is for external use on the skin only. Do not allow azelaic acid to come in contact with your eyes, mouth or other inner skin layer (mucous membranes). If it does, wash immediately with cool water. Inform your doctor if you have asthma before using azelaic acid. Tell your doctor if you are or planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.

Expert advice for Minoxidil Topical

  • You may need to use Minoxidil Topical for two to four months before you see new hair growth, as hair growth is a slow process.
  • Once you see new hair growth, keep using Minoxidil Topical as advised by the doctor. Otherwise, you might observe hair loss again.
  • Do not use if 
    • You have no family history of hair loss
    • Your hair loss is sudden and patchy
    • You have a shaved scalp
    • Your scalp is red, inflamed, irritated and painful
    • You are also using other medicines on the scalp
    • You are a patient of high blood pressure

    • Allergic reactions like swollen face, skin redness or itching or throat tightness

Few things that would help you know if this is working on your hair. During the first 2-3 weeks of use, there may be a temporary increase in hair fall, but this is fine as this indicates new growth cycle is beginning, and the new hairs are coming in place of older ones. However, this is temporary and will stop in next few weeks. However, results may vary from person to person. If hair loss continues after 2 weeks, stop using and inform your doctor.
