Tiskytas Syrup is a combination of two medicines: Promethazine and Pholcodine which relieve dry cough. Promethazine is an antiallergic. It blocks the action of a chemical messenger (histamine) which may trigger cough due to allergy. Pholcodine is a cough suppressant. It suppresses cough by reducing the activity of cough centre in the brain.
Tiskytas Syrup may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.

Tiskytas Syrup may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Tiskytas Syrup may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Tiskytas Syrup is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Tiskytas Syrup may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor. However, caution is advised in patients with severe kidney disease as it may cause excessive sleepiness in them.
