How to use Tiskytas Syrup

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Tiskytas Syrup is to be taken with food.
However, this medicine can also be taken before food.

How Tiskytas Syrup works

Tiskytas Syrup is a combination of two medicines: Promethazine and Pholcodine which relieve dry cough. Promethazine is an antiallergic. It blocks the action of a chemical messenger (histamine) which may trigger cough due to allergy. Pholcodine is a cough suppressant. It suppresses cough by reducing the activity of cough centre in the brain.

Alcohol
CAUTION
Tiskytas Syrup may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.
Pregnancy

Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation

Driving
Tiskytas Syrup may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney
Tiskytas Syrup is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Tiskytas Syrup may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
However, caution is advised in patients with severe kidney disease as it may cause excessive sleepiness in them.
Liver
