How to use TG Goal Tablet
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. TG Goal 160mg Tablet is to be taken with food.
How TG Goal Tablet works
TG Goal 160mg Tablet is a combination of two lipid-lowering medicines: Atorvastatin and fenofibrate. Atorvastatin prevents your body from making "bad" cholesterol (LDL) while fenofibrate works by lowering the levels of triglycerides in your blood. Both raise the levels of “good” cholesterol (HDL).

On Feb 2015, I was diagnosed with high BP and cholesterol. My BP was 150/110. I will attach my cholesterol report (ends with I was prescribed Asomex 2.5 mg for bp, but it did not go down and so was asked to take 5mgb daily. My pressure dropped significantly and till date it reads to 120/80. Reg cholesterol, I was prescribed TG Goal. During Oct 2015, I took a lipid test and the cholesterol went below normal. I will attach this report So I was prescribed Novastat 5 mg and taking the same daily till date. I am asked to take BP medicine life long. I have to take one more lipid test soon and decide on Cholesterol medicine. I learnt that taking statin for a long time causes diabetes. I am also afraid to take bp medicine life long. Is there any alternate?

High BP requires life long medications and since your Bp is controlled on medications, continue with it. Statin are safe drugs but every medicine has some side effects, so we always advice patients to be followed up in the clinic at regular intervals

Q. Can the TG Goal cause liver damage?
TG Goal contains Atorvastatin and Fenofibrate. A very rare (1 in 10000 patient) side effect of this medicine is liver damage. Use of this medicine should be avoided in patients with the underlying liver disease. Contact your doctor immediately If you notice any early signs and symptoms of liver damage such as fever, rash, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, stomach pain, dark urine, yellow skin or eyes, or abnormal live enzymes.
Q. Can the TG Goal cause muscle pain?
Yes, TG Goal is known to cause muscle pain by injuring muscle. Talk to your doctor as soon as possible if you are experiencing muscle pain, weakness or muscle cramps. It can be a sign of muscle injury due to TG Goal.

Making lifestyle changes can boost your health while taking TG Goal. Stop smoking, as it lowers your risk of having heart attack and stroke. If you are overweight or obese: try to lose weight.
