How Steri Gargle works

Steri Gargle is a combination of two medicines: benzydamine and chlorhexidine gluconate, which treat mouth infections. Benzydamine is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling). Chlorhexidine gluconate is an antiseptic. It works by binding to the surface of teeth, inner cheeks, and gums. This kills the infectious microorganisms that cause gum disease, tartar, and other mouth infections.

Steri Gargle is meant for a mouth rinse or gargle only. Spit the rinse out after use; do not swallow it.
It should generally be used undiluted. If it makes your mouth sting, you can dilute it with an equal volume of water before use.
