The common side effects of Saltopic Ointment include skin burning, itching, irritation, and redness at the application site. If these side effects or any other symptoms that you think are because of this medicine persist for a longer duration, please consult your doctor.

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or suffering from any other disease. If your psoriasis worsens or you get pus-filled, elevated blisters beneath your skin, consult your doctor. If you experience blurred vision or other visual abnormalities, contact your doctor immediately. Do not use a large amount of ointment on large areas of the body for a long time (for example, every day for many weeks or months).

Psoriasis is a skin problem in which skin cells build up and form scales and dry patches which are itchy and painful. Applying Saltopic Ointment helps manage psoriasis symptoms like itching, pain, redness, swelling or irritation. It moisturizes the skin and makes it soft and smooth. Clean and dry the affected area before applying Saltopic Ointment. Use it atleast 2-3 times a day or as prescribed. You may see change in your skin appearance after few weeks.

Eczema
Eczema is a condition in which patches of skin swells and becomes dry, itchy, rough and red. Saltopic Ointment moisturizes the skin and helps reduce dryness and itchiness. It reduces swelling and redness at the affected area. Apply 1-2 times a day or as prescribed by your doctor. You might see an improvement in your skin after 2 to 3 weeks of treatment.

How Saltopic Ointment works

Saltopic Ointment is a combination of two medicines: Betamethasone and Salicylic Acid which treat eczema and psoriasis. Betamethasone is a steroid that blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen, and itchy. Salicylic Acid is a keratolytic medicine that breaks down keratin clumps, removes dead skin cells, and softens the skin. It also enhances the absorption of Betamethasone into the skin.

Quick tips

It is advisable to apply it once a day. For best effect, leave it on during the day if you have applied it in the morning or overnight if you have used it in the evening.
Apply to the affected areas as a thin film two or three times daily or as advised by your doctor.
After you have applied Saltopic Ointment, remember to wash your hands (unless your hands are in the treated area).
Do not cover the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by the doctor, as this may increase the risk of side effects.
If you are using a moisturizer along with this preparation, apply the moisturizer first. Then, wait 10-15 minutes before applying the Saltopic Ointment.
Do not apply it to open wounds and cuts.
Your skin may become more sensitive to sunlight than normal while you are using Saltopic Ointment. Try to avoid sitting out in the sun and do not use sunbeds.
