Calcitriol(300000 iu)


Osta d3 300000 iu injection is a form of Vitamin D also called Vitamin D3. Vitamin D is important for the absorption of calcium from the stomach and for the proper functioning of calcium in the body. It is used as a supplement in people with Vitamin D deficiency.It is also used to treat abnormalities of calcium and phosphate metabolism such as bone diseases in people with kidney problems (renal osteodystrophy), and weakening of the bones in women after menopause (post-menopausal osteoporosis).

How it works

Osta d3 300000 iu injection belongs to a group of medicines called ‘vitamin D metabolites’. It is a naturally produced hormone that helps to control calcium levels in the body. It promotes calcium absorption in the intestines and retention by the kidneys thus increasing  calcium levels in the blood. It also decreases phosphate reabsorption by the kidneys consequently decreasing serum phosphate levels, parathyroid hormone levels and bone reabsorption.
