Product introduction

Follow your doctor’s instructions precisely for administering Oculast Eye Drop in the eye. It should be used regularly at evenly spaced time intervals as prescribed by your doctor. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping the medicine too early may lead to the returning or worsening.

Commonly seen side effects seen with this medicine include temporary eye irritation and burning sensation after administration. Consult your doctor if these side effects persist or if your condition worsens. It may cause blurring of your vision for a short time just after its use, so not drive until your vision is clear.

Oculast Eye Drop helps relieve symptoms of allergic eye disease such as redness, swelling, itching, and watering of eyes. This medicine works by decreasing the production of certain chemicals that cause inflammation of the eyes. This will make it easier for you to go about your daily activities. Use it as prescribed to get the most benefit. If you see no improvement even after 2 weeks, talk to your doctor.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

How to use Oculast Eye Drop

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Wipe off the extra liquid.

How Oculast Eye Drop works

Oculast Eye Drop is an antiallergic. It works by blocking the action of a chemical messenger (histamine) which is responsible for red, itchy, watery eyes.

Quick tips

  • Your doctor has prescribed Oculast Eye Drop to treat inflammation (redness and swelling) due to allergies of the eye. 
  • It treats short-term or sudden allergic reactions in the eye.
  • Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute immediately after instilling the drop. 
  • Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution. 
  • Stinging sensation may occur for 1-2 mins. Notify your doctor if it persists for longer. 
  • Make sure to use within 4 weeks of opening the bottle.
  • Your doctor has prescribed Oculast Eye Drop to help relieve allergy symptoms such as itching, swelling and rashes.
  • Stop taking Oculast Eye Drop at least 3 days before taking an allergy test as it can affect the test results.

Taking Oculast with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects

Use Azelastine with Betahistine only if prescribed by your doctor. Azelastine may block the action of Betahistine.

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to conceive or breastfeeding to prevent any harmful effects on the baby.
Oculast Eye Drop is safe if used in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Take it exactly as directed and do not skip any dose. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully and let your doctor know if any of the side effects bother you.
If you forget a dose of Oculast Eye Drop, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next scheduled dose. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one as this may increase the chances of developing side effects.
Oculast Eye Drop is effective if used in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Do not stop taking it even if you see improvement in your condition. If you stop using Oculast Eye Drop too early, the symptoms may return or worsen.
