This medicine is for external use only.Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye/ear without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid or ear. Wipe off extra liquid.
Mycovict Ear Drop is a combination of four medicines: Lidocaine, Clotrimazole, Beclometasone and Ofloxacin. Lidocaine is a local anesthetic which works by blocking pain signals from the nerves to brain to decrease pain sensationin the ear. Clotrimazole is an antifungal which stops the growth of fungi while Ofloxacin is an antibiotic that prevents bacterial cells from dividing and repairing. This treats your ear infection. Beclometasone is a steroid. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the ear red, swollen and itchy.
Mycovict Ear Drop may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Mycovict Ear Drop is probably unsafe to use during lactation.
Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
