General Information

Your child’s medicine at a glance
Give Kidpred Syrup to your child with food. The usually prescribed frequency is once daily, preferably in the morning after breakfast. The dose of this medication will depend on your child’s clinical condition, body weight, age, and treatment response. Use Kidpred Syrup only for the recommended duration of time. Do not prolong its use, more than recommended as that may lead to increased side effects. Also, do not stop giving this medicine suddenly. Sudden withdrawal may affect the ongoing treatment and the child may exhibit withdrawal symptoms such as dizziness, vomiting, and thirst. The dose needs to be gradually reduced before stopping it completely. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking Kidpred Syrup, let the child calm down, and then give the same dose again.
The most common side effects associated with the use of Kidpred Syrup include increased appetite, weight gain, increased blood pressure, and behavioral and mood changes. Many of these usually go away once the treatment is stopped. However, in case these persist or start bothering your child, consult your child’s doctor without any delay. Taking Kidpred Syrup can also make it harder for your child to fight off infections. Tell the doctor if your child shows any signs of infection such as fever or sore throat.
Never practice self-medication, always consult your child’s doctor for advice. Your child’s doctor must be aware of your child’s entire medical history, including any previous episode of allergy, heart problem, liver impairment, and kidney malfunction. Having an insight into your child’s overall health will help. This will guide the doctor in planning your child’s overall treatment.

Nephrotic syndrome is a kidney disorder that causes your body to pass too much protein in your urine accompanied with excessive swelling over various parts of the body such as around the eyes and in the feet and ankles. Kidpred Syrup works by suppressing the immune system. Thereby, it reduces inflammation and swelling that occur in nephrotic syndrome. It reduces the protein in the urine and also helps in getting rid of the extra fluid, thereby relieving the swelling over different parts of the body. This helps to restore the normal kidney function and prevents further damage to the kidneys.
Kidpred Syrup helps in the treatment of a wide variety of inflammatory conditions such as asthma, severe allergic reactions, juvenile arthritis, uveitis, ulcerative colitis, and Crohn’s disease. Kidpred Syrup works by inhibiting the secretion of chemicals that cause inflammation like prostaglandins and leukotrienes.
Kidpred Syrup has been found useful in organ transplantation. It is also used to treat several autoimmune disorders. These include rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, connective tissue disease, skin disorders, nephrotic syndrome, acute interstitial nephritis, autoimmune hemolytic anemia, and idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura.
Kidpred Syrup stops the release of chemical messengers (interleukins) that are required for the multiplication of white blood cells (WBC) in the body. By doing so, it suppresses the body’s immune system and disables it from acting against the body’s organ systems. This helps in reducing symptoms such as swelling, pain, itching, and other allergic-type reactions. It is important to know that this medicine may weaken your child’s immune system, so you should keep your child away from other people who are ill or have infections.
