Uses of Hylac Tablet

Hylac Tablet is used in the treatment of pain due to smooth muscle spasm. It is used to relieve cramps in the muscles of stomach, intestine, bladder and ureter. It can also be used to relieve the symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

How to use Hylac Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Hylac Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Hylac Tablet works

Hyoscine belongs to class of medications called antimuscarinic and antispasmodic. It acts by relaxing the smooth muscles and by inhibiting secretions in the lining of the gastro-intestinal tract.

  • Do not take hyoscine if you are allergic to hyoscine or any of the other ingredient of the tablet or solution.
  • Do not drive or operate machinery immediately after taking hyoscine as it may cause drowsiness.
  • Consult your doctor before taking hyoscine, if you have a history of heart problems like heart failure or fast heart rate; an overactive thyroid; fever, constipation or difficulty while urinating.

Hylac Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.
Pregnancy

Hylac Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation
SAFE
Hylac Tablet is safe to use during lactation. Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.
Single dose is unlikely to interfere with breastfeeding, milk secretion may decrease during long-term use.
Driving
Hylac Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney
CAUTION
Hylac Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Hylac Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
CAUTION

If you miss a dose of Hylac Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
