Gluject-S Tablet is a combination medicine that helps control blood sugar levels. This medicine is used together with diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It helps in the proper utilization of insulin, thereby lowering the blood sugar level.

Gluject-S Tablet can be taken with or without food at any time of day, but try to take it at the same time every day. The dose will be decided by your doctor, and don’t stop taking it without consulting them. If you do, your blood sugar levels may increase and put you at risk of serious complications like kidney damage and blindness. This medicine is only a part of the treatment program that should include a healthy diet, regular exercise, and weight reduction as advised by your doctor.

The most common side effects of Gluject-S Tablet include urinary tract infection, nasal congestion, sore throat, and upper respiratory tract infection. Drinking plenty of fluids while using it will help prevent dehydration. Some people may develop fungal infections in the genital area. Maintaining good hygiene can help prevent this.

Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have any kidney or liver problems, a urinary tract infection, or if you are on water pills (diuretics). Gluject-S Tablet is used alone or together with other diabetes medicines to control blood sugar and avoid long-term complications.
It also reduces the risk of heart attack, heart failure, or other cardiovascular events.
You should continue to exercise regularly, eat a healthy diet, and take your other diabetes medicines (if prescribed) along with Gluject-S Tablet.
It may cause your body to lose too much fluid (dehydration), or you may urinate more often. Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated.
It can cause genital fungal and/or urinary tract infections (UTIs) in both females and males, so practice good hygiene.
It may cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) when used with other antidiabetic medicines, alcohol, or if you delay or miss a meal.
Always carry some sugary food or fruit juice with you in case you experience hypoglycemia symptoms such as cold sweats, cool, pale skin, tremor, and anxiety.
Inform your doctor immediately if you experience constant dizziness, joint pain, cold-like symptoms, or unexplained nausea/vomiting.
Monitor your blood sugar regularly while taking this medicine.

Gluject-S Tablet is used for adults with type 2 diabetes when sugar control is not good enough with a single medicine alone. It helps lower high blood sugar, along with diet and exercise.

Is Gluject-S Tablet for type 1 diabetes?

No. Gluject-S Tablet should not be used in type 1 diabetes (the body makes no insulin), and it is not for treating diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA).

What serious warnings should I know upfront during Gluject-S Tablet treatment?

You should reach out to a doctor immediately if you get signs of diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), like fast, deep breathing, stomach pain, vomiting, extreme thirst, unusual sleepiness, confusion, rapid weight loss, or a sweet smell on breath, urine, or sweat. This can happen even if blood sugar is not very high.

Can Gluject-S Tablet increase the risk of infections?

Yes. Gluject-S Tablet can raise the chance of urinary tract infection (UTI) and genital yeast infection (thrush). Get help for fever, chills, burning when passing urine, back/side pain, or genital itching, discharge, or odor.

What is Fournier’s gangrene, and why is it related to Gluject-S Tablet use?

Fournier’s gangrene can occur during Gluject-S Tablet use. It is a rare but serious infection of the area between the genitals and the anus. Get urgent care for pain, redness, swelling in that area with fever, or feeling unwell, because it needs immediate treatment.

Can Gluject-S Tablet cause pancreatitis (inflamed pancreas)?

Yes. Pancreatitis has been reported with Gluject-S Tablet. Seek help for severe, persistent stomach pain that may extend to the back, with nausea, or vomiting.

Can Gluject-S Tablet cause low blood sugar (hypoglycemia)?

Gluject-S Tablet can cause low blood sugar when taken with other sugar‑lowering medicines like sulfonylureas or insulin. Symptoms of low blood sugar include shaking, sweating, hunger, fast heartbeat, headache, vision changes, mood change, or confusion. Your doctor may lower the dose of the other medicines to reduce this risk.
