Uses of Gemerdapa Tablet

Benefits of Gemerdapa Tablet

Treatment of Type 2 diabetes mellitus
Gemerdapa 5/2/1000 Tablet is a medicine that helps to control high blood glucose (sugar) levels. It helps get rid of extra glucose from your body through urine. It also improves the body’s response to the hormone insulin, which is responsible for regulating blood glucose (sugar) levels in the body. The insulin helps to lower your blood glucose levels and prevents them from rising after taking meals.

Lowering blood glucose levels is an essential part of managing diabetes. If you can control the level, you will reduce the risk of getting any of the serious complications of diabetes, such as kidney damage, eye damage, nerve problems, and loss of limbs. Taking this medicine regularly along with a proper diet and exercise will help you live a normal, healthy life.

How to use Gemerdapa Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Gemerdapa 5/2/1000 Tablet may be taken with or without food.

How Gemerdapa Tablet works

Gemerdapa 5/2/1000 Tablet is a combination of three antidiabetic medications. Dapagliflozin lowers blood sugar by causing the kidneys to get rid of more glucose in the urine. Glimepiride lowers blood sugar by causing the pancreas to produce insulin (a natural substance that is needed to break down sugar in the body) and helping the body use insulin efficiently. Metformin helps to control the amount of glucose (sugar) in your blood. It decreases the amount of glucose you absorb from your food and the amount of glucose made by your liver. Metformin also increases your body's response to insulin, a natural substance that controls the amount of glucose in the blood.

Quick tips

  • You should continue to exercise regularly, eat a healthy diet.
  • Monitor your blood sugar level regularly while you are taking this medicine.
  • It can cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) when used with other antidiabetic medicines, alcohol or if you delay or miss a meal.
  • Tell your doctor immediately if you experience any deep or rapid breathing or if you have persistent nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain as Gemerdapa 5/2/1000 Tablet may cause a rare but serious condition called lactic acidosis, which is an excess of lactic acid in the blood.
  • Your doctor may check your liver function regularly. Inform your doctor if you develop symptoms such as abdominal pain, loss of appetite, or yellowing of the eyes or skin (jaundice).
